Title: "Drop Zone"

Concept: A very small map, vertical in orientation, designed for very quick kills and fast-paced action. You spawn in one of nine alcoves in the ceiling, and quickly fall below and begin battle in one of three different levels of play. The first level is a floating platform with mini towers shooting up from the floor. The second level consists of ammo strewn about a floor with a large hole in the middle which leads to the third level, a fairly flat dome atop a cylinder which stands tall from the bottom of a deep pit. You can find items like the Assault Sentry and the Seeker Drone on small platforms in the third level, but the only real weapons are found in the alcoves where you spawn. So, whatever weapon you get is simply the luck of the draw!

Installation: Just extract all of the zipped files to your GameData/Base directory, then go into JKII Multiplayer and into "Create Server," and on the list of maps, you should find my map!

Uninstallation: Delete "dropzone.pk3" from your GameData/Base folder.


Info: This is my second offering to the JKII community, and hopefully not my last. By the time I release my next map, I will (maybe?) have learned how to make things like functioning doors and elevators that were among the most basic things to make with JED, the map editor for the original Jedi Knight.

Programs Used: JK2 Radiant, Arena Master, PakScape.

Developer's Hint of the Day: When looking for what music to use for a level, go into JKII Multiplayer, bring up the console, and type in "dir music". Then use the Page Up and Page Down buttons to explore the names of all the music that you can use!


Known Bugs: During a duel, if one bot is on the first (top) level and another bot is on the third (bottom) level, the two bots may get stuck and continue to run around in circles without ever fighting each other. The only way to remedy this problem, aside from playing with human players, is to press ESCAPE, then click on CALL VOTE and then KICK one of the two bots, then click on ADD BOT and replace the one you just removed.
