Ghostsabers Revisited
Made by Taters-N-Cheese (Matt Carter) Tubacarter@yahoo.com
Simply place the .pk3 file into the Gamedata/base directory where you installed Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Unless you don't like it. Then, place it in the Desktop/Recycle Bin directory where you throw away all your junk.
Story: Years ago, an ancient Sith Lord named Darth Bane began to practice the Dark Arts, a form of Sith magic, in an attempt to steel himself against the Jedi Knights of his time. One of his lesser-known actions was the discovery of a technique that allowed him to capture an enemy's very soul in the crystal placed in a lightsaber, using a process
similar to that of the Ssi-ruuk's entechment. The resulting blades, known to the jedi as Ghostsabers, were impure, displaying holes in their fire that were, in life, blemishes on the Jedi's soul itself. Though no better than a regular saber blade, it was, in Bane's mind, the ultimate insult to an enemy to use his own soul to slay his comrades...
This is a saber mod that turns your lightsaber choices into the Ghostsabers (Revisited). Here's what's new.
The white core becomes a slightly lighter color of the blade itself. When a trail is left, the saber leaves a sparkly, eerie trail of white. For those who tried Ghostsabers, the predecessor to this mod, basically the same effects as the neutral .pk3 file.
When hitting an enemy, these sabers leave a ectoplasm-ey white mess. When two lightsabers collide, you get a kinda rotten, skull-sih flare. The sabers look like they have holes in some parts of the blades.

Completely new is a set of ghastly sounds, as well as a new flash effect for the personal shield. I revisited the original file because, all along, I wanted to have a kind of moan-ey, ghostlike sound with the sabers, and when I figured out how to do sounds in JA, I immediately wanted to set to it. However, college doens't leave a guy much free
time, and it's taken till now (AKA Fall Break) to get a chance to do it. And so, at long last, I've created a sequel to the ghostsabers. I'd like to drop a special thanks to all the folks who made the original ghostsabers such a hit. I hope that this new file doesn't dissappoint all my fans ;).
NOTE: You may be interested to know that these sabers originally started as an attempt to make a crayola crayon saber, but I found out that these were really cool when I made one by mistake. So, there you have it!
