Time making map:

First attempt at Solarwind - December 2008

Total time: 7 hours + many hours of map compiling b4 i used caulk

Theme:

Almost 1,000 years ago a great Sith Lord came to Bespin and conquered the last of the
wastelands and built huge citadels on the barren deserts, and great temples and carbon mines
to extract the crystal ore to power the Ion Generators. In this time we prospered and made
great advances in science and use of the force.

Then a dark time came to us. The Ancient Sith Lords grew strong and sent their armies
to fight the few Neutralists who were left on this ravaged place to take our power and ore.

We were weakened by our neutral power which had not been activated for nearly 5,000 years.

We had no need, we could absorb the dark and light and use it to energize our race.

Then, a final, and tragic battle ensued and our planet, located nearly 3,000 galactic pulses from Bespin,
was destroyed. The few of us escaped in small stapods and ended up on an abandoned outer carbon mining facility
called Solarwind.

Here we have been, alone, without contact or help for so long !

About the Map:

Dark, broody, black n' White mostly, far from a power source. Was abandoned when the Neutralists left in small carbon
stapods (ships).

Lighting:

Spent a lot of time working with the lighting... a lot of my freinds told me it was too dark. I spent a while
lighting the map with no satisfatory results, thus i went back to just lighting it very dark. You WILL need to turn
up your video lighting settings. The contrast between dark and light was lost when i lit it properly, probably due
to it being my first map, and lack of mapping and lighting knowledge.

NPCs:

I loved the minemonsters so much, and added a few for fun. There are other NPCs all around at various points that are spwanable
via small (hidden) buttons.

Map Areas:

Main area. Good for FFA and Merc battles messing around
Basic dueling room with some portals to other kind of secret areas
Generator Dueling room with the 3 Reborn NPCs for fun
Main systems control room
Crystal Chamber
Carbon Mines
Dark Deuling Area
Carbon Stapod with training pole, consol monitor, rest area
Z-95 Launcing Pad
Coolent systems area
Council Chamber

Jail area to hold prisoners
