Description :

"They never built a circuit that could hold him."

This is the character TRON, played by actor Bruce Boxleitner in
the movie "TRON". If you're not familiar with the movie, TRON
is the physical representation of a security program inside the
world of computers. He is a freedom fighter, imprisoned on the
game grid by the evil Master Control Program and his minion SARK.
Because he was written to be the best of the best, TRON's game
playing skills are unmatched across the system.

If you haven't seen this wonderful movie, you really should check
it out today:

I'd have to say that even though I've designed all in all over 20
skins for various projects, this one was by far the most
difficult and time-consuming.

This skin is based on the Bespin Cop model, which is as close
as it gets to a TRON character. I have turned off the Cop's gun
holster, of course. Using a number of resources, I have attempted
to make TRON's circuitry pattern match as close as possible the
real character. Since matching live actors' faces to sknis that are
not made for their faces never works, I have not changed the Bespin
Cop's face. I have, however, made it the required gray as shown in
the movie, and have smoothed out all the wrinkles and imperfections.
I have also narrowed the mouth a little, and brought down the
eyebrows a bit, hoping he looks a bit more "hawk-like". He looks
much younger and more polished in the face than Bespin Cop did.

A shader causes the colored portions to actually glow in the dark,
and to gently pulsate, reminiscent of the movie. Because of this,
in bright light, this skin looks like the real TRON would: not very
cool. He looks fine in bright light, but really shines (no pun
intended) on the darker maps.

Although the default color for Tron is supposed to be blue, I have
provided a color to match each regular saber color (plus white),
should your taste go in another direction. Only blue and red are
selectable from the Player menu (red only from the red team
selection), so you will need to switch colors in the console,
like so:

model tron_deluxe/default
model tron_deluxe/red
model tron_deluxe/orange
model tron_deluxe/yellow
model tron_deluxe/green
model tron_deluxe/blue
model tron_deluxe/violet
model tron_deluxe/white

To bind a key for rapid switching to change with your mood, you
can do the following:

bind X "model tron_deluxe/red"

And so on for the other colors.

Obviously team color support is handled by these colors.

Sounds are mostly Kyle's, since Kyle does tend to sound a bit like
Bruce Boxleitner. However, the death, pain and drowning sounds have
some TRON effects added to them. The taunt is taken from the movie
line where TRON says to SARK: "I'm also better than you," but I have
edited out the word "also". It flows surprisingly well.

Bot support has been added for each color, so you can fill a server
with multicolored TRONs if you like.

Inspiration for this skin has been taken from the following two
TRON skins already in existence:

Tron, by Lehm
(http://www.jk2files.com/file.info?ID=2267)

Zap Pack, by Blair Tarleton and Everette Heb
(http://www.jk2files.com/file.info?ID=2550)

While these skins have helped me understand the placement of certain
patterns, all circuitry patterns on TRON Deluxe are drawn by my
hand, and not ripped from the other skins. Thanks guys for the
inspiration!

Thank you to the following ICoP members for helping me get the various
parts together:

{ICoP}AmosMagee
{ICoP}Auri87
{ICoP}Maddog

Additional thanks to Raven, Id, LucasArts, JK2Files.com.

And of course, I would be remiss if I did not thank Walt Disney Studios
for putting out such an imaginative film, ahead of its time. To this
day, it still grabs people.

Installation :
================================================================

Open tron_deluxe.zip and extract tron_deluxe_MP.pk3 or
tron_deluxe_SP.pk3 to your "\GameData\base" folder, in whatever
main folder you have JK2 installed.

NOTE: The SP version will NOT run without the MP version also
installed!

================================================================
Removal :
================================================================

Simply delete the tron_deluxe_MP.pk3 or tron_deluxe_SP.pk3 from
your "\GameData\base" folder, in whatever main folder you have
JK2 installed.

================================================================
SinglePlayer :
================================================================

You know, Kyle sounds so much like Bruce Boxleitner, that I can
see TRON maybe making a cool SP character to play.

So he's included.

Just add the "tron_deluxe_SP.pk3" to your Base folder to play
Kyle as TRON. Bear in mind that it will also replace the MP
version of Kyle, as do all SP character mods.
