DATE RELEASED: 21 December 2006
CREDITS: I feel that I must give credit to Japan for the inspiration and
LucasArts/RavenSoft for this wonderful series of SW games.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Copy and paste "Stances.pk3" to your
gamedata/base folder. If you are unsure how to find it the directory
"should" be C:/Program Files/LucasArts/Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast/
gamedata/base.
DESCRIPTION: This is a simple stance mod that changes the three original
stances as well as a subtle difference in your running animation. The
"new" (old really) yellow stance isn't actually part of the experience.
It is the way it is simply to add an idle motion to the player when they
stand still with their saber activated. In blue stance, the player now
holds the hilt in front and far away from the torso pointed up and a
little to the right. In red stance, the player now holds the hilt near
the left side of the face with the igniter at eye level pointed upward
and the blade igniting diagonally over the corner of the left shoulder.
As for that subtle change in running animation, think of running around
in SP mode with your lightsaber activated. If you don't know what I mean,
pay attention to the arm movement in SP mode before installing this mod.
BUGS: No real bugs. This mod works as it should, but if you use a mod
that allows you to change how you roll in-game (i.e. Duelers Mod 1.3 and
ForceMod 2), this mod will not be usable.
COMMENTs: I'm very happy with the turnout of this mod, although I'm also
disappointed in the red stance at the same time. The arms in blue stance
are stretched out a little too much, looking straight instead of bent in
and rested. The red stance simply looks wrong in my opinion. While the
right hand is over the left, the stance itself is actually a "lefty"
(left-handed) stance technically making the hand placement all wrong.
Regardless of some of the "wrong-ness" of the new stances, however, I
feel happy with the results when I actually use this mod.
