Map description: In Remnant_Experiment Kyle and the Jedi had infiltrated the Remant base on Tenet and found strong evidence that Galtech Industries, one of the largest interplanetary corperations, had links with Remnant forces. They had found technology and research which appeared to have originated from Galtech. The New Republic wanted greater details of exactly what the relationship between Galtech and the Remnant were, and what their technologies were being used for. Kyle was sent to infiltrate a major Galtech research centre on Eltrech. Things were going smoothly; Kyle has just managed to sneak past the perimenter security of the research compound. Then he was knocked unconscious. Kyle awakens in a prison cell.......

Mission objectives:
1. Escape from the prison cell you find yourself in
2. Investigate the facility, find out as much as possible about what is going on there and how Galtech are involved
3. Recover your pistol
4. Recover your lightsaber
5. Shut off the 4 power generators
6. Deactivate the shield generator
7. Send a message to the Republic, they will be able to locate the facility from the message
8. Escape from the facility

You can finish the level without completing all the objectives, but you will not have accomplished all the aims of the mission.

Other info:
Keys play an important part in this map, it may not seem like you can get through a door, you can, but you need a key. Keys are carried by Remnant Commanders, who wear black uniforms.

In the storeroom you can reach through a ventillation shaft, there is a door, it is locked with no key avaliable, you cannot go through this door.

I recommend having voice volume set to full when playng this map, and cranking the sound up for the cut scene near the end.

Once the level ends the intro of the main game begins, and you end up in the first level of Jedi Knight 2, with a bonus - you have the lightsaber!

Authors notes: After getting a lot of criticism for Remnant_Experiment, I realised the people who criticised the map had a point and there were a lot of weaknesses with it. I began work on this map with the intention of really improving my map making, learning new skills and doing everything with more care and attention to detail, I hope this is a big improvement and that everyone enjoys it. Please feel free to email me comments, suggestions or requests for help for this or any other of my maps.

AKPiggot, who posted a thread of tips for single player map editing, at first I thought these were far too over ambitious and difficult, but he really had a point, and suggested loads of very useful ideas and promoted the importance of plot, cutscenes, voice actors, inventive and original level design.

Unzip into the base folder in gamedate in the Jedi Outcast folder, by defaul at - C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\base\
Start up JK2 and hit shift and ` (the button to the left of the 1 button), this brings up the console. Type: map prison_escape
