CREDITS AND THANKS: Thanks to graves - I stole your blood effects from Dante's Alastor.
I do have some special thanks to dole out to a certain several people, without whom this pack would have never come to light.
Trauma Sensei: Without your constant support I would have given up early and become a moisture farmer... or something.
Almighty Gir: You got me started with this modelling stuff. Maybe one day I'll be able to create wonderful masterpieces such as your models ;)
Haruki: You're just kind of annoying, y'know? Er, I mean... you were a great inspiration when I ran out of ideas. Pupu and the Blitzball are dedicated to you!
Beta Testers:
-Trauma Sensei
-Haruki Exodis
-HolaPanda
-LukeSky
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Put the PK3s you want into your base folder. If you have no previous sabers added to your SP saber menu, put "ffxweps_sp.pk3" into your base folder (if you want these weapons in single-player). If you already have some sabers put into SP, please see the included tutorial.
INCLUDED PK3s:
auron_kata.pk3
blitzball_thermal.pk3
kimahri_spiritlance.pk3
pupu_detpack.pk3
rikku_claw.pk3
sphere_tripmine.pk3
tidus_brotherhood.pk3
tidus_longsword.pk3
yuna_nirvana.pk3
ffxweps_sp.pk3
DESCRIPTION: This is a group of 9 weapons based on the game "Final Fantasy X," including 6 new sabers and 3 demolitions weapons.
INCLUDED WEAPONS:
-Tidus's Longsword (with staff variant)
-Tidus's Brotherhood
-Auron's Katana
-Yuna's Nirvana
-Kimahri's Spiritlance
-Rikku's Claws (dual sabers)
-Lulu's Pupu (detonation pack)
-Wakka's Blitzball (thermal detonator)
-Sphere (trip mine // laser trap)
SP SABER COMMANDS:
-Tidus's Longsword --> tidus_longsword, tidus_longsword_staff
-Tidus's Brotherhood --> brotherhood
-Auron's Katana --> auron_katana
-Yuna's Nirvana --> yuna_nirvana
-Kimahri's Spiritlance --> spiritlance
-Rikku's Claws --> rikku_claw (right hand only), rikku_claw_left (left hand only)
FIXES DURING BETA:
-Fixed several soundsets which were "off" due to copy-pasting.
-Fixed several shaders.
-Fixed an error with plane transparency on Kimahri's Spiritlance -- thanks Trauma.
-Fixed the blitzball soundset to reflect the consistency of a blitzball rather than a metal thermal detonator.
-Fixed several sabers which did not bounce off of the architecture.
-Fixed the hilt color of Auron's Katana to reflect in-game photos rather than the artist rendering.
-Fixed several missing/incorrect sounds.
-Fixed thermal detonator belt -- now reflects the blitzball.
KNOWN BUGS/ISSUES:
-Rikku's Claws are a highly impractical weapon, considering the angle of the blades and their length. Also, they look silly with single-bladed stances, so I suggest using these as dual sabers, should you choose to use them. There are two models - each is marked with the proper hand to use it for.
-Not so much a bug as a personal preference, but the Brotherhood has no blood effects, because I believed they were not needed. Should you decide you want the blood effects, just open up the .sab file and add the following lines:
g2MarksShader "gfx/damage/bloodcutmark"
g2WeaponMarkShader "gfx/effects/bloodsplat"
hitPersonEffect "sword/damage_person.efx"
Then either copy the effects folder from one of the other PK3 files to your "tidus_brotherhood.pk3" or if you have another PK3 with the effects in it it should work as well.
COMMENTS: This is really my first peek into modelling, so I hope in the future to release more weapons (or weapon packs). I was thinking of perhaps doing a gunblade pack next, as I have already modeled (but not released) Seifer's gunblade. For and comments/requests on my next project, feel free to bug me on GamingForums.
NOTE: For instructions on getting sabers into the single-player menu, I have included a tutorial for those who already have sabers in SP. For those that don't, I have included the necessary files.
