DESCRIPTION:

This model was based off of the 'Double Helix' saber prop by parksabers.com. Like the one on parksabers, it is the kind of lightsaber that is two regular saber hilts that can be combined at the base and form a lightsaber staff. I've done what I can to fully implement this feature into JA. A script makes it possible to switch between modes, the saber will sometimes 'break' into two Helix sabers (MP only, to my knowledge), one can begin the SP campaign with the dual-helix, and the staff is even throwable!

INSTALLATION:

Drop 'double_helix.pk3' into your JA's 'base' folder (usually located at C:Program FilesLucasArtsStar Wars Jedi Knight Jedi AcademyGameDatabase). If you want the splittable saber script, put 'autoexec.cfg' in your base as well. Note that the script will not work in MP, but it is a ton of fun to use in SP, so I reccomend it!

HOW TO USE:

With the script installed, Press 'Z' to switch to dual-wielding the two sabers, and press 'X' to connect the two and form a staff. The color is random, so if you are picky about the saber color, just keep hitting 'Z' or 'X' until you get the right color(s).

To begin the SP campaign with the double-helix saber, left or right click on the saber hilt name in the selection menu (right click is faster in my case). Even though the saber selection menu is restricted to single-bladed sabers, the dual-bladed helix saber hilt will appear (no, this does NOT mean that under normal circumstances you can dual wield dual-bladed sabers. That is just...insane).

BUGS:

Because the hilts form an exceptionally long hilt, the second blade kinda starts a long way up the hilt...it isn't too noticeable, but it still is a 'bug'.

The script leaves no means of securing your saber color. Each time you press 'z' or 'x' the colors will change. If you know how to make a better script for this, feel free to do so. Otherwise just be content with a saber that changes color all the time. I think it's kind of cool myself.
