Maintenance Runner Part 1
Corellia. Ordrellian Industries. Maintenance Level. Office 12-4. Midday. Daniel Galfano works from out of this small office as a maintenance worker with the aid of astromech droid R7-K2. When he isn't fixing broken lights and faulty chicken soup vending machines, he sits around waiting for the next problem to get sent his way, and daydreaming about what he should be doing with his life. Today is, like every other day, promising to be dull...
This animated short is made up of scripted cutscenes created within Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, which was created by Raven and LucasArts. To view them, you will need to have the full retail version of Jedi Academy. I recommend setting the music volume quite high in the sound settings options. A recorded video version is on the way.
Full English subtitle support is avaliable, accessed in the same way as for Jedi Academy single player. Check out the Extras folder for the script and map files used to create this (might be useful for editors looking to learn ICARUS scripting), outakes, screenshots and music.

Extras:
Editors -
The Maintenance1.map file and the scripts for Maintenace runner part 1 are included, looking at both should help editors to work out how a lot of scripting is accomplished, included camera angles, NPC movement and animation and effects.
Music -
timed.mp3 - The track used in the menu and end credits of Maintenace Runner Part 1. Its a basic tune with some effects applied in Goldwave.
tester4.mp3 - I originally intended to use this track instead of timed, it has a bass line which I liked. But after talking to from Matthew Pate and Daniel "Thrawn42689" Wilkes, I decided on the version without the bass line as it didn't really tie in with the main guitar very well.
Future Stars -

Outakes -
Three shots of some unlikely happenings that can occur when you try to play around with scripting...

To launch:
This animated short is made up of scripted cutscenes created within Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, which was created by Raven and LucasArts. To view them, you will need to have the full retail version of Jedi Academy.
I like to have my projects load as mods, as it means they can be kept in the Gamedata folder and you don't need to remove them when you want to play something else. However, this does not work 100% for some reason. If you use the Base method, you will get subtitles, working level descriptions and working end credits. If you use the mod method, you don't have to worry about the pk3 file playing around with the JA game - as the Base method will change JA from the moment you load it up. If you use the Base method and want to play JA normally or with another mod, you must simply move it from the base folder, you don't have to delete it outright.
Base method:
1) Unzip mainrun1.zip
2) Copy the mainrun1.pk3 to your Base folder.
(example: C:\Program Files\Lucas Arts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData\Base)
3) Launch "Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy" (Single Player)
4) Click "New" and the first cutscene will load
Mod method:
1) Unzip mainrun1.zip
2) Copy the contents of the zip file to a folder in your "gamedata" directory, name the folder "MainRun1"
(example: C:\Program Files\Lucas Arts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData)
3) Launch "Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy" (Single Player)
4) Click on "Setup" --> Mods"
5) Select MainRun1 and click "load mod"
6) Click "New" and the first cutscene will load
================================================================
To skip to the next scene, press 'Use' and wait for the next scene to load. If you press 'Use', leave it a while then press it again, you will fast forward through part of a scene (beware, this can cause problems).
